Apple released six software updates today that only affect the current MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air laptops. Each laptop has two updates: one for the EMI firmware, and one for the SMC firmware, which controls the sensing and accuracy of the MagSafe Power adapter.
The EFI firmware updates are described as:
This update fixes several issues to improve the stability of MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air (Late 2008) computers.
The SMC firmware updates are described as:
This SMC Firmware Update improves the sensing and accuracy of the MagSafe Power Adapter indicator light on MacBook Air (Late 2008) computers.
The updater application will be installed in the /Applications/Utilities folder and will launch automatically. Please follow the instructions in the updater application to complete the update process.
