Thanks for the post, but when I looked in my Library folder, there was no Updates folder in there.  I ran a search on my mac and found another Updates folder, but that was empty.

Any suggestions?

I got this problem trying to install QuickTime 7.6.2 and now when trying to install Safari 4.0 on a PowerBook G4 12&quot; (PowerBook6,8) and Leopard 10.5.7.

Unfortunately it didn&#039;t help to clear the /Library/Updates/ 
It didn&#039;t even work to download the Safari package from Apple&#039;s site and install it with the Installer.
